On October 3rd, 2020 TGK Automotive and Aquarius Home Services hosted their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, benefiting the Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf. Each year the two companies compete for the trophy, and this year, TGK took it back from Aquarius! Originally scheduled for July 25th, the event had to be postponed due to the pandemic. 66 golfers and many generous sponsors helped us raise a whopping $12,230 for the local community. TGK Automotive and Aquarius Home Services are so grateful for the generosity and support from our employees, friends, family, vendors, and sponsors to make this happen!

TGK Automotive sponsors an annual school supplies drive at all of its Twin Cities locations and over the last several years clients have donated several thousand school supplies. Clients who donate school supplies in August each year receive a 5% discount on vehicle repairs at any of TGK Automotive’s locations. “Having young children, I know that our schools are struggling in providing enough school supplies to children for the whole year,” says Troy Kaplan, founder of TGK Automotive. “Our kids deserve better and they need the right tools in order to help them grow and prosper. I want to make sure that my children and other children in the local community are getting the education they deserve.”

TGK Automotive has been one of the sponsors of the Hugo Good Neighbor Days annual community celebration in early June for many years. The event is presented by the Lions Club of Hugo and highlights of this 4-day festival include carnival rides, trout fishing pond, parade, bingo, beer garden and fireworks. According to Troy Kaplan, founder of TGK Automotive, “Our sponsorship of Hugo Good Neighbor Days is just one example of our commitment to being a good partner to our communities.” Pictured at the 2018 Hugo Good Neighbors parade are Troy and Alana Kaplan, and their adorable daughters Lucy and Lexi. TGK Automotive clients are invited to donate non-perishable food items during the holiday season each December to help support families in their local communities in need. TGK shops offer a discount on services to clients who donate to the food drive and often match the items donated. Thanks for the generosity of its clients, TGK Automotive has provided thousands of non-perishable food items to their local communities.

TGK Automotive was at Hugo’s Kidz and Biz celebration as a sponsor in May 2018. The Fest is hosted by the Hugo Area Business Association and gives kids and their families a fun, free event in their community. The event featured carnival games, bike raffles, balloon animals, face painters, a family fun stage, bouncy castle, giant slide, and food and refreshments. Troy Kaplan and Tim Kruse represented TGK Automotive at the event (and that’s Troy’s daughter Lexi helping out at their booth). TGK has been a sponsor of the event for many years.
